Asakusa, home to Senso-ji Temple and Tokyo’s old downtown, is perfectly positioned for the Keisei Skyliner from Narita, one of the fastest and most affordable airport-to-neighbourhood transfers in Tokyo.
Quick answer: Keisei Skyliner to Ueno (43 min, 2,520 yen) then Tokyo Metro Ginza Line to Asakusa (8 min, 180 yen). Total around 55 to 60 minutes, approximately 2,700 yen. No other route beats this for Asakusa.
Option 1: Keisei Skyliner + Ginza Line (Best Option)
- Skyliner from Narita to Ueno: 43 minutes, 2,520 yen
- Tokyo Metro Ginza Line from Ueno to Asakusa: 8 minutes, 180 yen via Suica
- Total: Around 55 to 60 minutes, approximately 2,700 yen
The Ginza Line at Ueno runs northeast to Asakusa in two stops. Follow the orange Ginza Line signs in Ueno Station. The transfer takes about 5 minutes on foot.
Option 2: Keisei Skyliner to Nippori + Asakusa Line
- Skyliner to Nippori: 41 minutes, 2,520 yen
- Keikyu Asakusa Line from Nippori to Asakusa: About 12 minutes
- Total: Around 55 to 60 minutes, similar cost
Alternatively, if there is a long wait at Ueno for the Ginza Line.
Option 3: N’EX (Less Direct for Asakusa)
The N’EX goes to Tokyo Station or Shinjuku, both of which require onward subway connections to Asakusa that take 20 to 30 minutes. Total 85 to 100 minutes. Not recommended when the Skyliner route is faster and cheaper for Asakusa specifically.
