Lotte Hotel Seoul: Myeongdong’s flagship property, a large international hotel directly connected to the Lotte Department Store and the Lotte World Tower. The Shilla Seoul: Technically in the adjacent Jangchungdan area, the Shilla is one of Korea’s two or three most prestigious hotels (alongside the Lotte). Hillside setting with outstanding city views, exceptional Korean-style service, and the Shilla Stay sub-brand of midrange properties connected to the same company.
Upper Midrange Hotels (150,000 to 300,000 won per night)

Staying in Myeongdong
Myeongdong is one of Seoul’s easiest areas for hotel stays, with many options close to the subway, shopping streets, restaurants, and airport connections. For most travellers, the best choice is a midrange business hotel within a 5-minute walk of Myeongdong Station.
Book 2 to 4 weeks ahead for normal travel periods, and 2 to 3 months ahead during cherry blossom season, autumn foliage season, and major holidays.
Hotel prices generally fall into three tiers: luxury hotels such as Lotte Hotel Seoul and The Shilla Seoul, upper midrange boutique and Korean-brand hotels, and practical business hotels like Ibis, Travelodge, and similar local chains. Myeongdong is also convenient on departure day. Seoul Station is one subway stop away, making it easy to use airline check-in and baggage services before taking the AREX Express to Incheon Airport.
