Everland in Yongin is South Korea’s largest theme park and consistently ranks among the most visited in Asia. Here is the complete guide to getting there from Seoul, tickets, the best rides, and what makes Everland different from Lotte World.
Samsung operates Everland, which is located in Yongin, about 40 kilometres southeast of Seoul in Gyeonggi Province. It covers 450 acres and includes a theme park, Caribbean Bay water park (seasonal), Everland Zoo, and a tulip garden, one of Korea’s most famous spring flower destinations.
Getting to Everland from Seoul
Shuttle bus from Gangnam (recommended): Direct shuttle buses run from Gangnam Station Exit 6 (Sinnonhyeon Station) every 20 to 30 minutes from 7:30 am. Journey time: about 50 to 60 minutes,s depending on traffic. One-way fare: 4,700 won. This is the most convenient option for most visitors.
From Suwon Station: Bus 5002 from Suwon Bus Terminal (adjacent to Suwon Station) to Everland. About 30 to 40 minutes. Combines well with a visit to Seoul and the nearby Suwon Hwaseong Fortress.
Subway and bus combination: Take Line 2 to Gangnam, then the shuttle bus as above total from central Seoul: 70 -0 minutes.
Tickets
One-Day Pass adult: approximately 62,000 won at the gate. Discounts of 10 to 20 percent are available through the Everland app or via Korean booking platforms (Naver, Coupang). Combo passes, including Caribbean Bay water park, are available in the summer season free entry for children under 36 months. The T-money card does not cover park entry but does cover the shuttle bus fare.
The Main Zones and Rides
T-Express: One of the world’s steepest wooden roller coasters at a 77-degree angle. The signature ride at Everland is the longest-queued attraction. Arrive at opening to ride with minimal wait.
Rolling X-Train: Steel coaster with multiple inversions. The second most popular thrill ride.
Global Fair: The main entrance zone with the European-themed architecture, live entertainment, and the Rose Garden (spectacular in May).
Zoo: Everland houses one of Korea’s largest zoos, including Safari World, where you ride through the safari zone on a bus surrounded by lions, tigers, and bears. Safari admission is separate from the theme park ticket (additional 5,000 won).
Caribbean Bay (separate facility): Water park adjacent to Everland. Open June to September. Separate ticket required.
Seasonal Highlights
Spring (April to May): Tulip and rose festival. The International Garden display around the Global Fair entrance is exceptional and draws visitors who are not interested in rides.
Summer (June to August): Caribbean Bay is in full operation the most crowded season with the longest queues.
Autumn (September to November): Autumn foliage display and the Halloween Festa (late September to early November), widely considered Korea’s best theme park Halloween event, with elaborate decorations and character appearances.
Winter (December to February): Snow Festival with ice sculptures and winter decorations. Some outdoor rides may be temporarily closed during heavy snow.
Tips for a Better Visit
Arrive at opening: The park opens at 10 am 9:30 amm on peak days). Arriving at the opening and heading directly to T-Express gives a realistic chance of riding without a long wait.
Buy tickets in advance: Gate prices are higher, and buying online saves time and money.
