Getting the wrong terminal at Incheon adds 20 to 30 minutes to your journey. Here is which airlines use which terminal and how to transfer between them if needed.
Incheon International Airport has two passenger terminals: Terminal 1 (T1) and Terminal 2 (T2). They are connected by a free automated people mover (shuttle train) but are about 18 minutes apart. Knowing which terminal your airline uses before you travel prevents arriving at the wrong one.
Quick check: Korean Air, Delta, Air France, KLM, and all SkyTeam member airlines use Terminal 2. Almost all other international airlines including Asiana, Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, British Airways, Lufthansa, Air Canada, and most budget carriers use Terminal 1.
Terminal 2 Airlines
Terminal 2 opened in 2018 and serves Korean Air and its SkyTeam alliance partners:
- Korean Air (KE)
- Delta Air Lines (DL)
- Air France (AF)
- KLM (KL)
- Garuda Indonesia (GA) check current assignment
- Vietnam Airlines (VN) checks the current assignment
If you are flying any of these carriers, your arrival and departure are at Terminal 2.
Terminal 1 Airlines
Terminal 1 serves all other airlines including:
- Asiana Airlines (OZ) and its Star Alliance partners
- All LCC budget carriers (Jeju Air, T’way Air, Air Busan, Peach, Jinair)
- Cathay Pacific, Singapore Airlines, Emirates, Qatar Airways
- British Airways, Lufthansa, Air Canada, United
- Most Asian carriers not in SkyTeam
How to Transfer Between Terminals
A free automated shuttle train (people mover) runs between T1 and T2 every 5 minutes. Journey time is approximately 18 minutes. Boarding is on Level B1 (basement) at both terminals. Fully signposted in English. No ticket required.
If you arrive at the wrong terminal, follow the signs for the inter-terminal transfer and allow 30 minutes for the full journey, including walking time at each end.
Facilities – Are They Different?
Terminal 2 is newer (opened 2018) and generally more spacious with wider corridors and newer facilities. Terminal 1 is larger and has a greater variety of shops and restaurants in the departures area. Both have:
- AREX station (the AREX Express and All-Stop trains serve both terminals)
- Limousine bus stops (same routes serve both terminals)
- Taxi ranks
- T-money card purchase counters
- Currency exchange
- Luggage storage
AREX from Each Terminal
Both terminals have their own AREX station. From Terminal 1, the AREX Express to Seoul Station takes 43 minutes. From Terminal 2, it takes 51 minutes (T2 is the first stop on the line).
