Getting from Incheon Airport to Busan without going through Seoul first is possible by a domestic flight or a direct bus. Here is the honest comparison of every option.
Many Korean visitors arriving at Incheon plan to visit both Seoul and Busan. The standard approach is to travel to Seoul first, spend several days there, then take the KTX south to Busan. But some itineraries call for going directly to Busan from the airport,t either to start the trip in Busan and end in Seoul, or because a specific connection requires it. Here is how.
Quick answer: Direct flight from Incheon (ICN) to Busan Gimhae (PUS), about 1 hour flying time but allow 3 to 3.5 hours total including check-in and transfers. Or: AREX to Seoul Station (43 minutes) then KTX to Busan (2.5 hours). Total door-to-door about 3.5 to 4 hours. For most itineraries the KTX via Seoul is more practical.
Option 1: Domestic Flight (Fastest Air, Slowest Door-to-Door)
Domestic flights operate from Incheon’s domestic terminal to Busan Gimhae Airport. Airlines: Korean Air, Asiana, Jin Air, Jeju Air.
- Check-in: Allow at least 60 minutes before departure for domestic check-in at Incheon.
