Lotte World in Jamsil is one of the easiest major attractions to reach in Seoul, thanks to its excellent public transport connections. Located right beside Jamsil Station, the complex is directly linked to the subway, meaning you can arrive almost at the entrance without needing a long walk outside.
Whether you are coming from Myeongdong, Hongdae, Gangnam, Seoul Station, or Incheon Airport, getting there is simple once you know the best route. This complete guide explains how to reach Lotte World from anywhere in Seoul by subway, bus, taxi, and airport transport.
By Subway (Best Option)
Route: Jamsil Station on Line 2 (green) or Line 8 (pink). Exit 4 leads directly into the Lotte World complex underground. No surface street crossing is required.
From Myeongdong: Take Line 4 to Dongdaemun History and Culture Park (2 stops), then transfer to Line 2 east for 4 more stops to Jamsil. About 25 minutes total, 1,450 won.
From Hongdae: Line 2 eastbound all the way to Jamsil. About 30 minutes, 1,450 won.
From Gangnam: Line 2 eastbound 4 stops to Jamsil. About 10 minutes, 1,250 won—the fastest route.
From Insadong/Anguk: Take Line 3 to Gyodae, then transfer to Line 2 east to Jamsil—about 25 minutes.
By Taxi or Kakao T
A taxi from Gangnam Station to Lotte World costs approximately 8,000 to 12,000 won, depending on traffic. From Myeongdong, about 15,000 to 20,000 won. The subway is faster and significantly cheaper for most journeys. Taxis are most useful for very early morning arrivals (before the subway is practical) or late-night returns after the subway has closed.
Book via Kakao T for convenience. Standard taxis are metered. Night fares (midnight to 4 am) are approximately 20 percent higher than daytime rates.
By Bus
Multiple bus routes serve Jamsil. Bus 3216 runs from Myeongdong to Jamsil. However, the subway is faster, cheaper, and more reliable given Seoul traffic. The bus option is mainly useful if you are starting from an area not well served by the subway.
On Arrival
Exit 4 from Jamsil Station opens into the Lotte World basement shopping level. Follow signs for Lotte World Adventure (an indoor theme park), Lotte World Aquarium, or Lotte World Tower (the observation deck is in a separate building). The different attractions within the complex are clearly signed from the subway exit. Allow an extra 5 to 10 minutes for internal navigation.
Getting Back
Jamsil Station is accessible from the Lotte World complex at any point. The last subway trains run at approximately midnight on Lines 2 and 8. If staying for a night event at Lotte World that runs past midnight, use Kakao T for a taxi return.
