Getting There
Yeouinaru Station on Line 5. Exit 2 or 3 leads directly to the park entrance. The park is also accessible from Yeouido Station on Lines 5 and 9 via a 10-minute walk south across the Yeouido island. From Mapo or Hongdae, take Line 5 east two stops to Yeouinaru.
Cherry Blossoms
Yeouido is Seoul’s most famous cherry blossom destination. The Yunjungno Avenue running through Yeouido is lined with several hundred cherry trees that bloom in late March to early April, typically peaking over a 5 to 7-day window. The Yeouido Spring Flower Festival (Yeouido Beokkot Festival) runs annually during the peak bloom period and draws enormous crowds.
The Han River park itself has cherry trees along the riverside path. The Han River bike paths run continuously for over 40 kilometres along both banks and pass through Yeouido. Swimming: The Yeouido Hangang Park outdoor swimming pool opens in summer (July to August). Entry is about 5,000 won. Popular and crowded on hot weekends.
63 Building: The golden 63-storey tower visible from the park is the 63 Square building, which has an observation deck (17,000 won) and an aquarium. Now somewhat overshadowed by the Lotte World Tower, but still a striking riverside landmark.
